How do I read my prescription?

- SPH (Sphere, also S or DS) — the strength of your prescription
- CYL (Cylinder, also C or DC) — the amount of astigmatism correction
- Axis (also AXI, AX, A or X) — the direction of the astigmatism
- PD — pupillary distance
What is PD?
PD (pupillary distance) is the distance between the centers of your pupils when you're looking straight ahead. We use it to place the optical center of each lens directly in front of your eye, so you get the clearest vision.
Your prescription may list one binocular PD, or two monocular PDs (one per eye). The two monocular numbers added together equal your binocular PD. A difference of 1–2 mm is within tolerance.
How do I measure my PD?
If your PD isn't on your prescription, ask your eye doctor or optician. If you'd rather measure it yourself, use a mirror or — what we recommend — have a friend or family member measure it for you.
Look straight ahead with your eyes level with theirs, and measure from the center of one pupil to the center of the other:
97% of adults have a PD between 54 and 74 mm — typically 52–65 mm for women and 58–71 mm for men.
Do you offer bifocal or progressive lenses?
No, we only make single vision lenses. If the ADD section of your prescription is blank, you have a single vision prescription.
What prescriptions can you make?
We make lenses for nearsightedness (myopia) only. Your SPH and CYL combined can't go past -6.00. For example, if your SPH is -4.00, your CYL can be no stronger than -2.00.
We don't currently make lenses for farsightedness (hyperopia) — if the SPH value on your prescription has a plus sign (+), you're farsighted. We also don't offer prism correction.
Can I use my contact lens prescription?
Sorry, no. A contact lens prescription can't be used for eyeglass lenses.
How recent does my prescription need to be?
For best results, use a prescription from the last 1–2 years.
Where do I find my glasses SKU?
Your SKU looks something like 12-345 or OO9001-23. It's usually printed on the inside of the frame arm, or on the original box.
Why do I need to fill out the form and upload my prescription?
So we can double-check every value and make sure your prescription is 100% correct.
Why do you need my sunglasses SKU?
It lets us double-check your frame so your lenses are cut to the right shape.
How long will it take to get my lenses?
Your lenses will arrive within 2–3 weeks of receiving your order.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is free.
Which carrier do you use? Can I track my order?
We ship with UPS, and you'll get a tracking number so you can follow your package.
How long does delivery take?
Once your lenses are made, UPS delivers them in 3–5 business days.
Processing time depends on whether your order is complete (prescription and PD), how complex your prescription is, and the shape of your frame. Once we've verified all your prescription details, you should receive your order within 2–3 weeks.
Warranty & Returns
What's your return policy?
Because prescription lenses are custom-made, we can't accept returns. But if there's any problem with your lenses, contact our customer service with photos of the issue within 60 days of delivery, and we'll give you a full refund or make you a new pair.
Do prescription lenses come with a warranty?
Yes, prescription lenses come with a 1-year warranty.
